![]() ![]() ![]() At the same time I keep going back to the stories and I think I understand more and more. That’s one of the reasons I like this series. They have their ups and downs and act quite ordinary. Their relationship is generally a good one, or as good as a normal relationship. Despite this Erlend isn’t a bad guy, even if he is what I would call immature even ten years down the line. She also struggles with Erlend not being as pious as her father and herself. She feels that her relationship with Erlend is tainted because they had sex before marriage. Kristin suffers from a guilty conscience. Then we follow them through their next 15 years of marriage. The plot: The book picks up right where The Wreath ended, with the wedding of Kristin and Erlend. My thoughts on The Wreath, the first book in the series, can be found here. The Wife is the second book, and there will be spoilers for the first book The Wreath. I am reading the three books in the Kristin Lavransdatter trilogy and reviewing them after I have read each book. ![]()
